Ecotox

REH was founded based on the need for environmental toxicology assessment in South Africa. As a qualified ecotoxicologist my vision is to provide my skills and knowledge within the field to various key role players such as government, industry, catchment management agencies, municipalities, water boards and to all other environmental stakeholders.

Chemical Hazard and Risk assessment

Assessing the environmental properties of chemicals in the environment can be costly. By using resources not associated with actual exposure to sentinel organisms like modelling software and chemical databases one is able to greatly reduce the cost of an assessment, as well as prevent the unnecessary exposure of organisms to harmful chemicals.

Laboratory Services

The battery of tests that is proposed by DEEEP includes aquatic ecotoxicity tests of which the most are already standardised and performed in SA. The collective expertise of REH staff easily achieves performing, and most importantly interpreting the data to form comprehensive ecotox information that can be applied directly by the client.

Training

REH is able to provide training on all the services that it offers to its clients in order to promote and develop a culture of environmental responsibility. REH is able to provide on-site training for clients to understand ecotoxicological terminology and data interpretation and also facilitate environmental management targets, objectives and plans. REH is dedicated to building capacity and promoting the use of applied ecotox tests for industrial application.
